Budget and Finance Bill
Each year the Minister for Finance and the Minister for Public Expenditure jointly announce Budget measures for the coming year. The Finance Bill, published following the Budget announcement, is the legislative vehicle used to enact these measures.
The Institute makes a Pre-Budget Submission and a Pre-Finance Bill Submission each year. These submissions, which are sent to the Minister for Finance and their Department, are based on feedback from our members and highlight areas where existing and proposed tax policy and legislation can be improved.
Commission on Taxation and Welfare 2021-2022
The Commission on Taxation and Welfare (CoTW) was tasked with reviewing and redesigning Ireland's tax and social welfare systems. The Foundations for the Future: Report of the Commission on Taxation and Welfare report was delivered to the Minister for Finance in July 2022.
